A Roadkill Christmas

It's the time of the year where everyone just get together to have fun, to catch up, to reconcile and to just be happy And in spite the hardships some,if not all of us, go through we just have to do all that for Christmas' sake. People celebrate in diffrent ways. For my family, it's a simple dinner and a simple prayer of thanksgiving. After all we got a lot to be thankful. If not for Jesus, who's the reason for the season, we wouldn't be together it's kind of sad though cause we're missing our Dad who's working in the US. but knowing that he is safe and doing well is another thing to be thankful for this Christmas.

For this entry I wanna share these Christmas vids from my favorite comedian, Jeff Dunham.

Hope you liked it and somehow made you smile. God bless everyone

You probably got a message from one of your friend saying you'd been filmed and there's a web link that you tried opening but can't get through.
Well, by doing that you're not only posting an automatic message to some of your friends but risking your computer for potential virus too....
So be aware of this messages and try to ignore or delete them.
They say that the people who's doing this are from the Canada and their mimicking Youtube's URL web page.
Right now their posting automatic comments with the video of a sexy girl and if you tried opening it you'll post the exact same comment to some of your random friends...
In addition, if you receive a comment and/or message that has a video with a link that takes you to what looks like a friendster log-in page delete the comment and do not use the log-in link.
Someone has phished the account it came from and is trying to phish yours.

A Birthday Wish For Mega-Manny

December 17, Manny Pacquiao's Birthday. His 30th. I'm pretty sure he'll be sorrounded by good-honest-loving people (and leeches alike) celebrating with him today.

Here are my wish for Pac ;

  • He stays healthy so he can have many fights. Reason? I'll quote what I read recently.
Eid Kabalu, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front civil-military affairs chief, has been known to say, “If Manny fights every day, guns will always be silent.”
For so many years Mindanao was at war, and Pac doesn't have to talk to create a ceasefire. how cool was that? plus crime rates was almost zero everytime he fights,

  • That he remains religious. So people in catholic churches can hear things like this.
‘Don't tell God that you have a big problem. But tell your problem that you have a big God.’ - Manny Pacquiao

  • That he stays away from vices.
  • That he gets to beat Hatton, Pretty Boy Floyd and Bernard Hopkins(JK) LOL
  • That he become richer.
  • more kids to carry on his legacy. (not necessarily boxing)
  • That he stays away from politics.
Pac is generous, he wants to help people. that's why as a fan I understand why he wants to do politics. but one thing is certain. That's not good for him. Right now he's an image that every Filipino looks up to, and I don't have a politician in mind that was respected that way.

Pac's achievements have been fully his own, as far as boxing is concerned. His becoming a sports hero has led not only to riches, but also has won him the incomparable affections of an entire nation. That success and that affection are his because of how he unites a nation otherwise divided and discouraged by politics.

No one can doubt that Pac is looking for a career that will not just give meaning to his life after boxing, but which will also allow him to help others as so many have helped him rise from rags to riches through sports. The question is not whether he can or should try to be a force for public good, but whether the public good is served by his entering politics.

His dogged determination, his dedication to his sport, his discipline and his ability to improve himself, all the while maintaining a sunny disposition and picking no quarrels with people outside the boxing ring, suggest to us that the greatest good for the greatest number lies in Manny staying out of the political arena. He is a political force by sheer force of being who he is-the man who unites-and staying that way.

And last, I wanna see him quit boxing while he is ahead. that he won't end up like many other boxers: broke, cheated, disgraced or punch-drunk.

But really he should stay out of politics. The punches thrown in political shadow boxing are more vicious than any he will ever face in the ring.

Arnel Pineda's Journey

10:33 AM by Irvin Ryan · 0 comments
Labels: ,

Pineda was born in Sampaloc, Manila, in the Philippines. His mother instilled his love for singing at an early age, encouraging him to sing along to songs from her favorite singers like Karen Carpenter and Barbara Streisand. Growing up, his parents entered him in many singing contests.

His mother, who had been suffering from rheumatic heart disease, passed away when he was thirteen. Her illness had left their family deep in debt. Being a year behind on their rented apartment and unable to sufficiently provide for the family, his father decided to move out and ask relatives to take in Pineda's siblings. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and volunteered to strike out on his own.

For about two years his life was spent out on the streets, sleeping wherever he can: in public parks or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and cleaning docked ships. He didn't have much to eat, sometimes rationing a small package of biscuit as his meal for two days. Despite all these hardships he tried to remain optimistic about his future.

In 1982, when Pineda was 15 years old, he became the lead singer of the Filipino musical group called Ijos Band (later renamed "Yjoz"). In 1986, some members of Yjoz formed a group called Amo. Amo entered and won the Rock Wars contest in the Philippines.

In 1988, Amo entered and won the Philippines leg of the Yamaha World Band Explosion. They went on to the finals in Hong Kong, but were not qualified to win due to a technicality. The rules stated the winning song had to be an original composition. However, they also stated that the song entry in the finals had to be the same song with which the band won their country's leg of the competition. Amo's winning song in the Philippines was Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", obviously not an original. After the contest, the band continued as Amo, performing live. They opened for Robert Palmer in Manila in 1989.

Amo played in clubs in Quezon City, Olongapo City and Makati City, which are located in Luzon, the biggest island in the Philippines. Amo was very popular in the renowned Chinese-owned California Jams club in Olongapo City, which was frequented by United States military personnel.

In 1990, Pineda and other members of Amo formed another band called Intensity Five and once again entered the Yamaha World Band Explosion. Pineda won the Best Vocalist award and the band came in as first runner up.

Later in 1990, five of Amo's original members split from the band leader, Ulysis Ablang (Uly) and formed another band behind Pineda, "New Age". This occurred prior to the release of Amo's one-and-only album released in 1990 titled Ang Tunay na Amo ("The Real Master") on BMG records which spawned one popular radio hit called "Running Away". (The song was popularized again in 2006 by another Filipino artist Erik Santos, who won an American Idol type Filipino TV show, Star In A Million.) The remaining members of Amo went on to become "The Boss Band", while Pineda's band, New Age, played regularly at Fire and Rain in Makati City.

In 1991, during one of those performances, a talent agent spotted Pineda and New Age and asked them to move to Hong Kong to perform at a very popular entertainment restaurant called Grammy's. With New Age, Pineda performed six nights a week, Tuesday through Sunday, for several years thereafter.

After a long-term serious relationship failed in 1994, Pineda suffered health problems, which almost destroyed his voice. He returned to the Philippines. After six months of recuperation, he was able to sing again. He returned to Hong Kong and resumed singing with his band.

In 1998, the owner of Igor's, the premiere theme restaurant/nightclub in Hong Kong, asked New Age to perform there. Dressed in skeleton outfits, they called themselves "The Rolling Bones".

In 1999, Pineda caught the attention of Warner Bros. record label and flew back to the Philippines on his days off to record a solo album, the self-titled Arnel Pineda. Most of the album’s ten original songs were slow ballads, with only two upbeat numbers, one of which carries a Latin style. One of the songs, “Iiyak Ka Rin” (You Will Cry Too) became a karaoke favorite in Asia, while another song "Sayang" (Too Bad) became a radio favorite. Pineda wrote and arranged several songs. Pineda continued to perform with New Age while making his album and for several years thereafter.

In 2001, Pineda sang one song with Filipino band, South Border’s album The Way We Do. The song is called “Looking Glass”.

In 2002, Pineda's band changed their name to 9 mm and played at “The Edge” in Lai Kwai Fong, Hong Kong.

In 2004, three members of the New Age band reformed with a female singer sharing lead vocals with Pineda and called themselves “Most W@nted”. This band played 3-4 hour sets Monday through Saturday at The Cavern Club in Hong Kong.On their only day off, Sundays, the band often performed at Filipino community events.

In 2005, Arnel recorded the theme song of the short-lived Filipino radio show "Dayo". A band named The Visitors was briefly formed for promotion purposes of the "Dayo" soundtrack consisting of three members from Ijos/Yjoz, Amo, New Age and Most W@nted.

In 2006, encouraged by well-respected Filipino talent manager and TV director, Bert de Leon, Pineda moved back to the Philippines with Monet Cajipe, the guitarist who had been in all of Pineda’s previous bands. They formed The Zoo with Emil Bondoc on bass, Edgar Mendoza on keyboards, and Makoy Alcantara on drums. They signed on with de Leon's company, Sundance Entertainment Corporation. The Zoo performed several nights a week at clubs in Manila and Olongapo during 2006 and 2007. Shows regularly spanned 3-5 hours. The Zoo’s first album Zoology was released by MCA Universal in September 2007 featuring 12 original tracks and one cover song ("Pain in My Heart," originally recorded a decade earlier by Second Wind), five of which were penned by Pineda, and another was co-written by Pineda and Mark Valliente.

Videos of The Zoo performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins and other popular acts from the 70s, 80s and 90s, began appearing on YouTube.com in February 2007. On June 28, 2007,[6] Neal Schon of Journey contacted Noel Gomez, a longtime fan and friend of Pineda who uploaded many of these videos, to ask for Pineda's contact information. Schon sent an e-mail to Pineda inviting the latter to audition for Journey. Pineda initially dismissed the e-mail as a hoax, but after being persuaded by Gomez, he finally replied to Schon's e-mail. Ten minutes later, Pineda received a phone call from Schon. On August 12,Pineda, along with his manager Bert de Leon, flew to Marin County, just north of San Francisco, for a two-day audition.[9][10] The star-struck Pineda was welcomed warmly but he described the audition as "nerve-wracking, tense".

On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the lead singer of Journey. CNN Headline News ran the story as part of their "News to Me" segment.

Pineda debuted as the lead singer of Journey on February 21, 2008 at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival held at the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater in Viña del Mar, Chile. Videos of the Vina del Mar performance are available at the Festival's home page and on YouTube.

Chilean media acclaimed Pineda's performance (translated to English): "The new vocalist fit very well with the band, his vocal aptitudes shining through, which are very similar to the legendary musician of the band, Steve Perry." Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain described Pineda's performance in a radio interview: "We went to Chile just recently, where we had never played and they went crazy, they absolutely went nuts...Arnel's first show — talk about a stressful thing — we had a televised concert for 25 million people...Is the guy a winner? Yeah, he's a winner. He's a clutch player."

Journey returned to the US for a private Remax Convention event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on March 6, 2008, then performed at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood on March 8, 2008 (this concert was recorded and used, in part, for the Revelation DVD).

and the rest as they say is history...

basketball,fitness and pain

10:49 AM by Irvin Ryan · 1 comments

Ive been playing a lot of halfcourt basketball in the past 3 weeks and I really think I'm getting my stamina and a little swag back to my mid range jumper. Good exercise makes your body function well. I'm back to the 7-9 hours of sleep range which is a rarity in the past 4 years. I feel a little more focused and I feel a lot more confident about myself. So it's really a good thing playing basketball and hanging out with ballers in our neighborhood every morning and late afternoons and I planned to keep it up until I get back to my old form.

Last Thursday I get to play with friends in a nearby subdivision and I Played pretty well. I really felt great about those 3 games cause we won all of it and my "D" and "J" should be credited for it. I ended the day early, slept around 9PM. When I woke up the next morning I felt some pain on my right foot, But it's tolerable I can make 5 steps before feeling anything. So I still decided to play that morning, but then my right thumb got hurt, I was going for the rebound and then the opponent tapped ball hard straight to my thumb. Man! That hurts a lot.

Right now I feel bad for myself. It's not because I'm hurt, it just reminds me of my life in general. Everytime I plan for good things something unfortunate happens. argghhh!!!
This time I'm not quitting though, the game we scheduled for tomorrow? I'm still on it ^_^
so for a pessimist, I'm a little more optimistic.

If it's a good thing nobody knows. fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Installing Love

8:16 PM by Irvin Ryan · 2 comments

TECH SUPPORT: Yes, … how can I help you?

CUSTOMER: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love. Can you guide me though the process?

TECH SUPPORT: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

CUSTOMER: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

TECH SUPPORT: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

CUSTOMER: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

TECH SUPPORT: What programs are running?

CUSTOMER: Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now

TECH SUPPORT: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self- Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly
installed. Can you turn those off?

CUSTOMER: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

TECH SUPPORT: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

CUSTOMER: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

TECH SUPPORT: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

CUSTOMER: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components ." What should I do?

TECH SUPPORT: Don’t worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

CUSTOMER: So, what should I do?

TECH SUPPORT: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

CUSTOMER: Okay, done.

TECH SUPPORT: Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

CUSTOMER: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

TECH SUPPORT: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. Th ey will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

CUSTOMER: Thank you, God.

Pacquiao Is KING!!!!

Grats Manny Pacquiao for making us proud!!!
8th round stoppage of ODLH is too much.. I asked for the 10th round ROFL... merciless.. relentless... just the best... now where's B-hop?! I wanna hear what he's gonna say!!! LOL looks like his 8th round prediction just came true. *evil grin*

Early Results from Las Vegas! Dream Match Pacquiao - Dela Hoya

Rising WBO junior featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (24-0, 22 KOs) continued to impress as he demolished Sergio Medina (33-2, 18 KOs) in just 98 seconds. "Juanma" dropped Medina three times in registering his 12th straight knockout win. "Medina looked scared to me - I really didn't hit him that hard until last knockdown," stated Lopez. "This is a big stage and it's a bit of letdown that I could not give the fans an even better fight. Trinidad told me if I can take them out, do it - and that's what I did. Obviously I would like to fight Israel Vasquez. He is best in the division and until I beat him I don't think I'm best at 122. I know there are other champions at 122 but I feel Vasquez would be best for me."

WBA/WBO #5 junior welterweight Victor Ortiz (23-1-1, 18 KOs) scored a second round annihilation of Jeffrey Resto (22-3, 13 KOs). The aggressive Ortiz dropped Resto twice in round one and got the stoppage at 1:19 of round two after dropping Resto for the third time. Ortiz retained his NABO title.

Super middleweight Daniel Jacobs (13-0, 12 KOs) scored a second round KO over outgunned Victor Lares (14-4, 3 KOs). A barrage of punches sent Lares to a knee where he was counted out at 2:44.
Welterweight Danny Oscar Garcia moved to 10-0 with 7 KOs) after outpointing Luis Alfredo Lugo (10-6-1, 5 KOs) over eight by scores of 80-72, 80-71, 79-73.
Junior featherweight Jose Angel Beranza (31-14-2, 25 KOs) shocked previously unbeaten Jesus Rojas (13-1, 10 KOs) by scores of 80-72, 79-73, 79-73.
Lightweight Adrien Broner (5-0, 5 KOs) scored a frist round KO over Scott Furney (3-7-1, 1 KO).
18-year-old junior featherweight Roberto Marroquin (5-0, 4 KOs) scored a first round KO over Isaac Hidalgo (2-3).

Pacquiao - dela Hoya, a Mismatch.

Pacquiao - dela Hoya is just around the corner. I tried to envision what the fight would look like and it looks like this. A total mismatch.

Round 1.

Pac and ODLH will come smoking, they will try to engage early. Why? Cause Oscar knows that a long fight would give him trouble and Pac wants to sap ODLH's energy. at this time Manny will still be cautious, cause Oscar still has a good left hook up until the 5th round.

Round 2.

Both men will slow down a bit, ODLH will try to establish the jab but will try to engage at certain points. Manny will try to tire ODLH's 36 yr old legs and make him slower by going from left to right. Body shots will be the key.

Round 3.

A jabbing Dela Hoya and a circling Pac who will give 3-5 combinations at a time.

Round 4.

Pac will have trouble with the jab, But ODLH will show signs of fading.

Round 5.

ODLH will look like an old man who wouldn't be able to protect himself from lethal body shots.

Round 6.

Someone should go on his butt/knees by this time. If it's not Pac, ODLH will be in lot of trouble.

round 7.

Much like of round 6.

Round 8

Someone's gonna be clinching to save his ass.

Round 9.

Power won't be an issue anymore, tough conditioning will be the Key.

ROund 10.

Nacho will throw in the towel and ODLH will be asking for an oxygen tank.

TKO win for Pac.

Some people will be calling me names because of this post, but this is how I really think the fight will be. Oscar to KO Pac must be able to hit him. But I don't see ODLH's gloves touching Manny, so it'll come down to speed, strategy and conditioning in which Manny has the edge. Why did i say that? anyone saw 24/7? ODLH looks great catching weight and all but He looks disoriented at times, that happens when you lose or put on a lot of weight , so he will have a handful from Manny fight night.
Oscar failed to Floor a 3rd rate boxer(who is smaller than him too) in Forbes so what made B-hop and the Oscar-huggers think He can KO Pac? That's crazy, not us who thinks Pac will win.

Oh well, call me anything you want but in this one. I really think I know what I'm talking about.
Manny making ODLH regret for picking this fight, Cause this will be his last. ^^,V

Pacman’s Mighty Fortress, Bolstering His Aura of Invincibility

PhilBoxing.com

Whatever you call this mega-fight, a farcical or a mismatch, between Pound-for-pound King Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Pay-Per-View King Oscar de la Hoya, it surely sets the world stage for what could be a crucial moment in the history of boxing.

So, the tectonic shift in boxing continues.

But, let us not forget that this meritorious fight between these two great men serves as a lens through which we can see how the human mind responds to this entertainment stimulus despite economic turmoil.

To understand this is to immediately lift the clouds in our minds about our present condition, that for the Maharlikan nation, the Philippines, in particular.

Philippines has been in a vacuum of inspiration and truism of heroic life for many centuries now.

What Manny Pacquiao did in the ring of violence evolves into a romantic interplay between politics and inspiration, nay, religion and lifestyle sophistication. And, whatever condemnation you would have about this man, such may not fit into his aura that the Creative Power of the Universe has given to him.

In fact, no purported hero in the history of Philippines had ever made it in the hearts of every living Filipinos. Even my twenty-two month old niece knows who Pacman is, at least in her own intimation.

Meanwhile, the name “Pacman” adds distinction to the lives of the Filipinos, at least in terms of outlook. Inspirations emitting from the life of their post-modern icon has brought out their imprisoned minds from the bondage of economic depravity and debility in the lack of inspiration.

Rightly so, when we think of Manny Pacquiao, we think: construction worker, baker, cigarette vendor, philanthropist, the legendary Asian boxer, descendant of Lapu-lapu - - - in short one of the greatest men of the Maharlikan nation.
But alongside that list stands another: a man of God.

However, while it is true that Pacquiao exhibits in his personal story a controversial past, he makes no effort to hide his own failures. Yet, he will always be remembered and respected for his heart of God.

Knowing how much more we share in Pacman’s failures than in his greatness, we should be curious to find out what made him as a man after God’s heart.

Pacman, like David of old, had an unchangeable belief in the faithful and forgiving nature of God. He is a man who lives with great zest. He sins many times. But, he is quick to confess his sins. In fact, he never takes God’s forgiveness lightly or his blessings for granted.

True, Pacman stands firm basking the limelight of giving glory to his Creator, a direct contrast of what De la Hoya gears up into.

De la Hoya resorts to making his fight against Pacman a personal revenge of what he perceives to be an easy way to avenge the withdrawal of the latter’s intent to establish contract with him. And for De la Hoya, he feels it necessary to demolish Pacman in the realm of his own power and strength.

What a difference perspective can make!

As to the intricacy of this fight, most boxing pundits only see the physical and boxing skill advantages of De la Hoya.

But, Pacman sees a mortal man defying almighty God. He knows that he would not be alone when he faces De la Hoya.

Because Pacman sees this clearly, he can fight him more effectively. Criticisms, nonetheless, couldn’t stop Pacman. In fact, he is unafraid to make his own trail.

And, it’s nevertheless about the heart of the True Maharlikan from the blood-thirsty aorta of Mindanao versus La Raza from the gang-infested section of East Los Angeles.

Conversely, the time is now for his greatest call on December 6, 2008 - to subdue the cockiness of Oscar de La Hoya, the Golden Boy.

But, leave it all to his Mighty Fortress who bolsters his aura of invincibility. It is He who is always ready to defy human logic, to which, of course as to this matter, I would keep my case open.

***I'm taking pac winning by KO in the 10th round. i really think ODLH punches wouldn't touch Pac, cause if it does, it''ll be lights out and we'll all be sad***
